Limits on the information about mold and indoor moisture published by Durham Mold Specialists.

General information only

Everything here is general information about mold and indoor moisture in and around Durham. It is not an inspection report, an engineering opinion, or advice about a specific property.

Where the figures come from

Climate, soil and code figures on this site are drawn from U.S. Census ACS 2020-2024 via Census Reporter; NOAA NCEI 1991-2020 Climate Normals (RDU); NOAA Comparative Climatic Data relative humidity; National Weather Service gauges ENON7, ECRN7, TFMN7; NC Geological Survey (NC DEQ); NC State Extension; N.C. Gen. Stat. 87-1. Sources are cited so they can be checked rather than taken on trust. Code editions change and adopting jurisdictions amend provisions, so anything decisive should be confirmed with the authority that will inspect the work.

Health

Nothing on this site is medical advice. Individual responses to damp and mould exposure differ substantially, and questions about symptoms or diagnosis belong with a physician rather than with a remediation contractor.

Cost figures

Ranges reference regional contractor pricing and are illustrative rather than quotations. What a particular job costs depends on access, condition and scope, none of which can be known from a web page.

Licensing

Verify any contractor, including this one, on North Carolina's own licensing register rather than relying on a number printed on a website or a vehicle.

No guarantee of outcome

Work addresses the conditions found at the time — removal addresses what is present at the time of the work; where indoor humidity stays high, growth can return. Warranty terms, where offered, appear in the written scope and are the only commitments that apply.
